Salad Greens with Pears and Walnuts

Yield: Serves 8


  • 10-12 C. mixed salad greens
  • 5 large pears, chopped into 1-inch (2.5 cm.) pieces
  • 1 1/2 C. (200 g) walnuts, lightly toasted, if desired
  • Sweet Salad Dressing:
  • 1/4 C. (65 g) sugar or Splenda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. dry mustard
  • 1/2 tsp. paprika
  • 1/2 tsp. dry or grated onion
  • 1/2 C. (65 ml) vegetable oil
  • 2 T. white vinegar


  1. Combine dressing ingredients in a jar and shake well to combine. (Or place in a bowl and whisk together.)
  2. When ready to serve, combine greens, pears, and nuts.
  3. Pour some of the dressing over the salad and toss. You will not need all of the dressing for this amount of salad. Store remaining dressing in a cool place.
